August 1, and it's time Ann and I take our annual road trip to the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show. Usually, we watch the show for a while, eat lunch, and then do some "mountain" things. This year, we decided to drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls. In previous years we have taken our dog, but this year we have a puppy, and we also happened to be baby sitting our choir director's dogs. Four dogs is too many for this road trip, so we left them at home.
